Application and development of 3D chemical dosimetry using gel matrix for heavy ion beam
In the radiation therapy, the evaluating and adjusting of 3 D dose distributions in advance are essential for the aim of which is to avoid unnecessary damage to healthy tissue and to concentrate the dose on only tumor target. The 3 D dosimeter is necessary to verify a treatment plan exactly. We have developed new type chemical 3 D dosimeter prepared by mixing aqueous chemical dosimeter and gel matrix, which is able to measure the heavy ion beam dose distribution. We present recent results and application of 3-D gel dosimeter in the radiation therapy.
