Description
=================================================== Date: Monday, May 19th, 12:00- Place: Room 203, RIBF building Title: The r-process and nuclear physics Speaker: Dr. Shinya Wanajo (TNP Lab) Abstract: Where do the elements heavier than iron, such as gold and uranium, come from? This remains one of the greatest unanswered questions in astrophysics. I will briefly review recent progress of theoretical understandings for the astrophysical origin of r-process as well as some related nuclear physics issues. Title: Radiation from relativistic electrons in turbulent electromagnetic turbulence Speaker: Dr. Yuto Teraki (ABB Lab) Abstract: The electromagnetic turbulence is thought to exist in emission regions of high energy astrophysical objects. The radiation mechanisms of accelerated electrons moving in such turbulences are not fully examined. In this talk, I will show a brief introduction of radiation mechanisms of relativistic electrons in turbulent electromagnetic field, and discuss the models which explain some peculiar observations by using the signatures of such radiation mechanisms. =================================================== Dear Colleagues, This is an announcement for a joint group seminar of Astrophysical Big Bang Laboratory and Theoretical Nuclear Physics Laboratory on May 19 th (Mon) @ Room 203, RIBF buliding. From this year, we rearranged the seminar as a lunch seminar, and it will start from 12:00. So, bring your lunch with you. We will have two 15+10 introductory talks by Dr. Shinya Wanajo and Dr. Yuto Teraki, respectively. Best regards, Hirotaka Ito
