Description
Nuclear Phases, Neutron Stars and the Functional Renormalization Group Prof. Wolfram Weise ECT* Trento, Italy and TU Munich, Germany date:  July 14, 2015,  15:30pm- place:  room 433, main research building Abstract: The thermodynamics of symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter up to densities characteristic of neutron star cores is developed starting from a chiral effective Lagrangian in combination with a non-perturbative Functional Renormalization Group approach. Results are presented and discussed with focus on the following topics: nuclear liquid-gas phase transition, chiral order parameter, in-medium pion mass and the equation-of-state for neutron star matter.
