Comprehensive Studies of Neutron Stars (RIKEN symposium)

Description
Neutron stars are one of the most enchanting classes of celestial objects, full of profound physics and novel astrophysics. Intending to better understand them, this workshop tries to bring together up-to-date studies in research fields closely related to neutron stars, including accelerator-based experiments, observations in photons and charged particles, as well as numerical and theoretical efforts. This timing has been chosen in order to; (i) expand our scientific frontier with ASTRO-H to be launched soon, (ii) enhance our utilization of RIBF, MAXI, and the rich Suzaku archive, (iii) accelerate future projects including PRAXyS and K-EUSO, and (iv) pursue astrophysics-oriented results from the KAKENHI Innovative Area “Nuclear matter in neutron stars investigated by experiments and astronomical observations” (led by Prof. H. Tamura) which continues till the end of FY2016. The workshop is rather informal, and talks are all solicited ones, but active discussion is highly encouraged. The speakers are asked to prepare their presentations in English, and give their talks also in English (but depending on audience). Participants (including the invited speakers) are kindly asked to make registrations by November 17. No workshop fee needs to be paid, and the banquet fee (if you attend) is collected on site with cash.
