Description

(CNS Seminar)
According to the CPT symmetry, one of the fundamental symmetries in the Standard Model of particle physics, physical quantities of matter and antimatter should be identical apart from their signs. BASE international collaboration aims at measuring the magnetic moment of the antiproton with high precision to perform stringent tests of the CPT symmetry. In this talk, we will report on the most precise measurement of the antiproton magnetic moment by using a novel triple Penning trap method. The resultant precision we achieved is 1.5 parts per billion, which is consistent with the most precise proton magnetic moment measurement performed by the BASE collaboration at Mainz University.
