Description
Abstract: Lambda hypernucleus which contains s-quark in addition to normal u, d-quarks, is a powerful tool to study the baryon interaction and structure of deep inside of nucleus. While the hypernuclear spectroscopy with meson beams has long history at KEK-PS and BNL-AGS and now it will develop further activities at J-PARC soon, it is only a decade ago that we started to use an electron beam to study hypernuclei at JLab-CEBAF. In this decade, many experimental improvements have been introduced to overcome high background and low statistics and hypernuclear spectroscopy by the (e,e'K+) reaction is now established. The upgraded MAMI-C at Mainz Univ. has recently started hypernuclear study with an electron beam. With our decade of experiences at JLab, we are now strongly collaborating with them. I will overview a brief history of the hypernuclear study at JLab, current situation at JLab, Mainz and give a prospect of future plans.
