On the gravity duals of superconformal gauge theories
Seminar abstract:
Gauge/string duality offers an alternative approach to the strongly
coupled regime of gauge theories. One of the fundamental aspects of
the duality is the relation between operators in the gauge theory and
the associated states in the dual string theory. In the supergravity
limit, the operators of the gauge theory can be mapped to geometric
excitations in the dual picture. In this talk, I will focus on the
specific case where the gauge theory enjoys superconformal symmetry
and I will discuss ongoing work concerning the operator spectrum in
the dual picture.
