Description
Date: 28th November (Wed), 13:30- Place: room 248, Main research building Lecturer: prof. F. Lenz (univ. Erlangen-Nurnberg) Seminar title: Thermodynamics properties of quantum fields close to horizons Abstract: I will discuss the properties of quantum fields in Rindler and de Sitter space. The emphasis will be on the mechanism of dimensional reduction which quantum fields experience in these space-times and its relation to the properties of the Hamiltonian. The connection to thermodynamics will be clarified and the strange phenomena associated with the dynamics of quantum elds close to horizons will be exhibited.
