Description
Medium-heavy neutron rich isotopes are cheacterized by a layer of excess neutrons on the nuclear surface. The question whether the excess neutrons in the skin can be excited to perform collective oscillations against the N=Z core has attracted considerable interest in recent years.
Results and proposed experiments at RIKEN and GSI will be discussed.
Additionally possible experimental approaches to study this subject with DALI2 at RIKEN will be shown.
