Description
"Gas structures around the AGN is important to understand both SMBH growth and galaxy evolution.
We here investigated the properties of two gas structures of active galactic nuclei (AGNs), i.e., dusty and dust-free gas components using line-of-sight dust extinction (Av) and the neutral gas column density (NH). We first established a new method to measure Av of the AGN based on near-infrared flux variability. We then separated NH of dusty and dust-free gas components by using Av derived in this study and NH based on X-ray observation, and statistically estimated the typical geometries of these gas structures and the effect of radiation pressure to them."
