The SSRI-PNS Collaboration Meeting 2026 will be held via video-link on 2 September, 2026. The meeting starts from 16:00 (JST).

The SSRI-PNS (Stop and Slow RI-Precise Nuclear Spectroscopy) collaboration is a platform to share and discuss the physics motivation and experiments to explore the properties of ground and isomeric states in nuclei. A range of low-energy spectroscopy techniques can be used, such as mass and decay measurements, laser spectroscopy with relevant devices existing or under construction at the RIKEN RIBF. Three major facilities and devices involved are:

- KISS (KEK Isotope Separation System)

- SLOWRI (SLOW RI beam facility)

- MRTOF-MS (Multi-Reflection Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectrograph)

The present status and the future plan of these facilities and devices will be shared and the pre-proposals using them will be discussed in the meeting.

The meeting will be held using Zoom. The all attendees are requested to register in advance. The Zoom access information will be informed to the registered participants.

The important announcement is that from this year, we suspend call-for-Pre-Proposals by using GARIS-II/GARISS-III. Because RIKEN Nishina Center (RNC) will construct the Charge‑Stripper‑RING (CSR) in E6, and therefore, RNC will stop call-for-proposals of the experiments by using RIPS and GARIS-II in E6, which will be removed in early 2027, from the next RIKEN NP-PAC. We will no longer be able to perform experiments using GARIS‑II, including the MRTOF‑MS setup in E6.

We also discussed the use of GARIS-III with GARIS team. It is difficult to accept external experiments at GARIS-III because new element search experiments have the highest priority. Therefore, we have decided to suspend accepting pre-proposals for GARIS-III for the time being.

However, we are happy to receive inquiries at any time from users who are interested in using GARIS for future experiments. This means that GARIS-related experiments will not be discussed at the SSRI-PNS collaboration meetings for a while, but we’d like to discuss the feasibility with local members. When GARIS-III becomes available in the future, we plan to resume accepting pre-proposals.
