Description
I discuss the role of pair correlations on the electric quadrupole
moments of aluminum isotopes around N=20 within the framework of the
microscopic particle-vibration coupling model where the pairing and
deformation are taken into account. The low-lying vibrational modes in
neutron-rich magnesium isotopes are also discussed with paying attention
to the pairing and deformation.
