Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to send you the Final Circular for the 18th International Symposium on Origin of Matter and Evolution of Galaxies (OMEG18), which will be held at RIKEN Wako Campus, Japan, from October 20 to 23, 2026.
OMEG18 will bring together researchers and students working in nuclear astrophysics and related fields to discuss recent experimental, theoretical, and observational developments.
We are looking forward to welcoming many participants from around the world to Wako.

1. Scientific Program

The detailed scientific program is now available on the OMEG18 website. The symposium will begin on Tuesday, October 20, with registration from 9:00 AM, followed by the opening and the first scientific session at 9:50 AM.

Late registration fees are:

The registration fee includes lunches on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; refreshments for the poster session; the excursion on Thursday afternoon; and the banquet on Thursday evening.
You can pay online by credit card.
Please note that these costs are an integral part of the registration fee and cannot be separated or deducted, even if you do not participate in some of these activities.

3. Venue

The symposium will be held at:
Headquarters Building, 2F, RIKEN Wako Campus (2-1 Hirosawa, Wako, Saitama 351-0198, Japan)

Participants should enter the RIKEN Wako Campus through the West Gate.
Only registered OMEG18 participants may enter the campus.

Participants with a valid RIKEN ID card must bring it, as they cannot enter the campus without it.

Participants who do not have a RIKEN ID card will receive an email containing a QR code, which should be presented at the West Gate Guard Station to obtain a temporary RIKEN ID card.
The same QR code can be used throughout the conference; however, the temporary RIKEN ID card must be returned when leaving the campus each day and reissued upon entry the following day.
Please have the QR code ready on your smartphone or bring a printed copy.

We will email the QR code the day before your first visit to RIKEN.
If you have not received the email by then, please first check your spam or junk mail folder.
If you still cannot find the email, please contact the OMEG18 Organizing Committee.

Please note that the entry procedure at the West Gate Guard Station may take up to 30 minutes during busy periods around 9 AM, particularly when many participants arrive at the same time.
We therefore strongly recommend arriving at the West Gate well before the scientific sessions begin.

4. Poster Session

The poster session will be held on: Wednesday, October 21, from 6:00 PM

The poster session will take place on the second floor of the RIKEN Headquarters Building.
We will serve light refreshments and drinks during the poster session.

Poster presenters are requested to prepare their posters in advance and follow the instructions provided on the conference website and at the venue.
Please prepare posters in A0 size (841 mm x 1189 mm, portrait orientation) or smaller.
Please display your poster on the panel labeled with your abstract ID.

5. Excursion

The conference excursion will take place on the afternoon of:
Thursday, October 22

A bus will take participants to Toyosu, Tokyo, where we plan to visit Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai and teamLab Planets.
Participants will have an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and food culture of Toyosu as well as an immersive digital-art experience.

As some exhibits at teamLab Planets involve walking through water up to approximately shin level, we recommend wearing trousers that can be easily rolled up if you would like to fully enjoy the experience.

The excursion is included in the registration fee.

6. Banquet

The conference banquet will be held on the evening of: Thursday, October 22

We are pleased to invite participants to a special dinner aboard a traditional Japanese yakatabune houseboat on the Sumida River.
During the cruise, participants can enjoy Japanese cuisine and nighttime views of Tokyo.
After the banquet, a return bus will be provided to Wako-shi Station, with a stop at Ikebukuro Station along the way.

The registration fee includes the banquet.

7. Accommodation

Several hotels are located near Wako-shi Station, and many additional accommodation options are available along the Tobu Tojo Line and around Ikebukuro Station.
Participants must arrange their own accommodation.

8. Important Notice

Please disregard any unsolicited emails concerning accommodation or travel arrangements sent by travel agencies or other companies claiming to act on behalf of OMEG18.
