RIKEN Kobe Campus is located in Kobe City. It is a six-minute ride from Kobe Airport and a 12-minute ride from Sannomiya Station via the Port Liner.

There is a high-speed boat "Bay Shuttle" from Kansai Airport to Kobe Airport.

  1. Take Keikyu Line (京急線) from Haneda Airport to Shinagawa (品川)
  2. Take Shinkansen "Nozomi" high-speed train (のぞみ) from Shinagawa (品川) to Shin-Kobe (新神戸)

There is a Shinkansen "Nozomi" reaching to Shin-Kobe every 20–30 minutes.

[From Narita (NRT) Airport (Surface)]

  1. Take Narita Express from Narita Airport to Tokyo (東京)
  2. Take Shinkansen "Nozomi" high-speed train (のぞみ) from Tokyo (東京) to Shin-Kobe (新神戸)

There is a Shinkansen "Nozomi" reaching to Shin-Kobe every 20–30 minutes.

[From Kobe Airport (UKB)]

Take Port Liner (ポートライナー) from Kobe Airport to Iryo Center (医療センター) station.

[From Shin-Kobe Station]

  1. Take a metro from Shin-Kobe to Sannomiya (三宮)
  2. Take Port Liner (ポートライナー) for Kobe Airport from Sannomiya (三宮) to Iryo Center (医療センター) station

[From Sannomiya]

Take Port Liner (ポートライナー) for Kobe Airport from Sannomiya (三宮) to Iryo Center (医療センター) station. Trains to neither Naka-futo (中埠頭) nor Kita-futo (北埠頭) goes to Iryo Center station.

There is a convention centre at Shimin Hiroba (市民広場) station. There is another RIKEN building at Keisan Kagaku Center (計算科学センター) station. However, these are NOT close to the conference venue.

The port Liner is usually crowded around 8:00–8:30 AM. If Port Liner is suspended or too crowded, you can also take a Shinki bus (神姫バス) from Sannomiya station, but we recommend using Port Liner.

[Accommodation]

We do not provide accommodation. However, there are many hotels available in Kobe. Please note that no special rates or negotiated prices are offered.

[Inside Port Island]

Inside the Port Island, the number of the hotels is limited, while you can commute on foot.

[Around Sannomiya Station]

Sannomiya (三宮) is the city center of Kobe; hence, there are many hotels. Below are just examples of the hotels around Sannomiya and this does not mean the recommendation from the organizing committee.
