We do not have time for a conference excursion, sorry. If you have some extra time, Kamakura is the most popular near-by destination, which is about 45 min by public transportation from the venue.
Take a bus in front of the venue to the last stop (JR Zushi station), From there, take an east-bound JR train to the next stop (Kamakura station) or the next next stop (Kita Kamakura station).
Another popular near-by destination is Yokosuka, which is a naval city equivalent to Annapolis MD in the US.
